Director of Public Forum
Rafey Khan is a rising senior at Emory University studying Chemistry and Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies. Rafey attended Nova High School in Davie, FL where he served as the captain of public forum and president of the debate team. He competed in the activity at the national level - reaching late out rounds at multiple tournaments, receiving multiple speaker awards, and qualifying to the NSDA National Tournament twice. In his senior year, Rafey finaled at the University of Florida’s Blue Key tournament and championed the Florida State tournament. Most notably, Rafey concluded his debate career as the Champion of the NSDA National Tournament.
In college, Rafey has served as a debate coach for both national and international competitors. He has coached teams from St. Johns High School, Cinco Ranch High School, and NSU University School. In addition to this, he collaborated with Sunrise International Education to teach debate to students who compete in China’s debate circuit. Rafey now serves as coach for Ransom Everglades Highschool. Over the past three years, Rafey has accumulated over 1000 hours in coaching and is an expert in the activity.
This will be Rafey’s third year teaching at a debate camp and he is excited to meet the future generation of public forum debaters!
