Riya Patel

Congressional Debate Instructor

Riya Patel is a senior at C. Leon King High School in Tampa, Florida. She has been competing in Congressional Debate since her freshman year. She currently serves as Co-Captain for Congressional Debate at her school and is the President of her school's Speech and Debate team, positions that she held in her junior year as well. Riya has qualified to the Tournament of Champions for 3 consecutive years and attended NSDA nationals for 3 consecutive years. A few of her most notable achievements are placing 4th at NCFL nationals in her junior year, 9th in House at the most recent NSDA nationals, 2nd at the Sunvitational in her senior year, and placing 7th at Yale in her senior year. She attended Invicta the summer before her sophomore year and quickly saw the way in which the experience transformed her skills and helped her meet some of her closest friends to date. Riya is ecstatic to work with other great coaches this summer, and she is dedicated to help individuals realize their potential.
