Stella O'Brien

Congressional Debate Instructor

Stella O’Brien is a current senior at Saint Joseph Hill Academy in Staten Island, New York. She is the current debate captain and the co-captain of the Hill forensics team. This year Stella has placed 3rd at the Big Apple round robin and at the New York City Invitational, second at the Villiger Invitational and fifth at the Princeton Classic. Throughout her competitive history, she has qualified for NCFL grand nationals three times and has finaled the last two years, placing in the top 10 at the tournament. She has competed across the national circuit at tournaments such as Harvard, Yale, the Tournament of Champions as well as on the New York local league where she placed 4th at States last year. Hailing from a school with a smaller forensics program, she hopes to promote more inclusivity in Congressional Debate and help all students build their confidence through public speaking this summer!
